Other payment methods
Credit/store cards you create under Cards & Debts automatically appear in âPaid with.â Use this section for things like Cash, Debit, or another method that is not a debt account.

Settlement is driven by the accounts you create. If your family has Scotia Visa, National Bank Mastercard, Costco Mastercard and a Home Depot account, those exact four names will appear below.
1. Actual income received
2. Bills & deductions
Recurring bills due in the next 14 days are loaded automatically from Recurring Bills. You can still add a one-off deduction here.
3. Scheduled investment contributions
Investment contributions due in this 14-day window are reserved from the available cash, but they are not treated as bills or debt payments.
4. Debt payments from this pay
You do not have to update the card twice. Enter what the bank/card currently shows before payment, then enter the payment from this pay. Settlement will reconcile the new balance and record the payment automatically. Use Cards & Debts â Reconcile / update balance only when checking the card outside Settlement or recording an extra payment made elsewhere.

Add recurring bill / deduction
Set this up once. Examples: mortgage, car financing, insurance, phone, internet,
investment contribution, or line-of-credit interest.
How Settlement uses these
Settlement looks from the chosen settlement date through the next 14 days.
Bills due in that window are added automatically.
Fixed: the expected amount is pre-filled.
Variable: the expected amount is shown, but you can replace it with the actual amount.
When a settlement is saved, included bills advance to their next due date so they are not counted twice.

Add, edit, or remove themAdd a card or debt
You do this once per account. For example: âScotia Visaâ, âNational Bank Mastercardâ, âCostco Mastercardâ, âHome Depotâ, âOverdraftâ. The balance entered here becomes the starting point for the current debt cycle. You can edit the account information later.
How account tracking works
Step 1 â Add the account once.
Create Scotia Visa, National Bank, Costco, etc. and enter its balance today.
Step 2 â Later, update that same account.
When you check the bank/card again, click Update balance on that account. The app remembers what it was before and compares it with the new balance.
There is no separate âsnapshot accountâ list anymore.

Your actual accounts
Everything here comes from what you add â no presets.Add investment account
Investments are kept separate from bills and savings goals. A recurring TFSA/RRSP/RESP contribution can still be reserved automatically from each applicable pay period.
Add contribution manually
Use this when money was invested outside Settlement. If a contribution was already recorded through Settlement, do not enter it again here.
Investment accounts
HouseholdFlow tracks contributions only. Use your investment platform for market value/performance.Appearance
These settings are personal to this device/account; they do not change the family's financial records.
Accent colour
Graphs, buttons and highlights follow this colour.
Install on this device
HouseholdFlow V11.2 is structured as a Progressive Web App. Once it is served from an HTTPS website, it can be installed on supported phones/computers and opened from an app icon.
If the install button is unavailable, use your browser's âAdd to Home Screenâ / âInstall appâ option. Local file previews cannot install a service worker.
Cloud & family sync
Local onlyYour current V11.2 works locally even without cloud setup. Supabase cloud sync becomes active after you connect a Supabase project and sign in. Never paste a Supabase service-role key here â HouseholdFlow only needs the public project URL and public anon/publishable key.
Developer setup (not needed by family members)
The schema file included with this V10 package must be run once in the Supabase SQL editor.
Account
Not signed in.
Shared household
No cloud household selected.
Data safety
V11 uses record-level cloud sync instead of one giant household file.Access-control check
This checks that an unauthenticated visitor cannot read household records, your signed-in account can read its own household, and RLS hides another household ID.
Not run yet.
Recovery snapshots
Every successful V11 cloud sync creates or refreshes one recovery snapshot for that day. These snapshots are in Supabase and are useful for undoing accidental changes.
Sign in and choose a household to view snapshots.
Encrypted off-site backup
For a copy outside Supabase, HouseholdFlow can export an AES-GCM encrypted backup file. Save that file in iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, an external drive, or another place you control. HouseholdFlow cannot silently upload to another provider without that provider's permission.
Export backup
Download a private copy of all HouseholdFlow data: spending, cards and debts,
recurring bills, settlements, savings goals, payment methods, and settings.
Current local data
Ready to back upKeep the JSON backup somewhere private and secure.
Restore from backup
Restore your HouseholdFlow data after switching devices or clearing browser storage.
Restoring replaces the data currently saved in this browser.
How saving works
Automatic local save: changes are saved in this browser whenever you add or update something.
Backup file: gives you a second copy that you control and can move to another device.
Not cloud sync yet: different devices do not automatically share changes.

Create savings goal
Add contribution
A contribution means money you actually moved into this savings goal. Example: you transfer $100 into the Emergency Fund. Use this for a transfer made outside Settlement; if Settlement already recorded it, do not add it again here.
